For me staying motivated during a workout is all about listening to a high intensity song. Most of the time it doesn't even need to be music that I love, just something with a high beat per minute (BPM). I will admit without shame the best song to get me motivated is "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor, which was made famous in Rocky. I have seen every Rocky movie several times, not really by my choice (thanks hubby) and this song just really gets me pumped and makes it easier to push out those last reps or last few minutes of a run!
Try to aim for songs that are around 125-130 BPM and make sure to arrange the highest intensity songs so they play during the hardest part of your workout. I promise it will be easier to get through just by focusing on the beat!
Here is a list of my top songs:
"This ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race" - Fall Out Boy
"Buttons" - Pussycat Dolls
"Eye of the Tiger" - Survivor
"Turning Japanese" - The Vapors
"Stronger" - Kanye West
"Bangarang" - Skrillex
"Kings and Queens" - 30 Seconds to Mars
"That's Not My Name" - The Ting Tings
"Womanizer" - Brittney Spears
"You Make Me Feel" - Cobra Starship and Sabi To get more great running playlists check out Shape Magazine, they have lists for every type of workout!
